The Labor module in Markets allows you to view wage data for 31 different jobs that are commonly seen in senior housing. This module is built around data provided by Lightcast, which utilizes machine learning algorithms to analyze job listings across the country. Through this data, which is updated quarterly, VisionLTC is able to provide insight into wage information, labor demand, required education and experience, total job postings, and longitudinal trends in those postings at the county level.

To access the Labor module, click on Markets on the sidebar of the VisionLTC web app homepage, and then select the Labor tab among the four available options.

When analyzing the labor market around a site, there are two options from which to choose:

  • Option 1 (Site Group): Choose a Group from the dropdown and select a specific site within the Group. This lets you analyze the labor market around any site within a Group that you have created, provided it is within a market in your subscription.

  • Option 2 (Address): Search by a specific address. This lets you analyze the labor market around any address in the US that is part of your subscription.

The data in the platform is provided at the county level. For example, if your site/address is located in Raleigh, NC, then you would see data for the Wake County labor market. If no data is available at the county level for a particular position, the module will present data for the state in which that county is located.

The data is presented in the platform in two ways: graphically and tabularly. The dropdown menu at the top of the chart can be utilized to show the range of wage information (either hourly or annually, controlled by the second dropdown menu) for the selected position, broken out by quartile and decile.

The most recent data for all positions is displayed in the table at the bottom of the screen. Here you can view the education and experience requirement breakdowns for all job listings for a position, salary percentiles, total job listings in the county, and the longitudinal trend in demand for that job code in the county. For position descriptions, click here.

To export the Labor module data in PDF format, you can use the Labor Report option at the top of the screen. This will download a PDF containing all information present in the tabular section of the Labor module.

To download the data presented in the Labor module in XLSX format, you can utilize the Labor Raw Data option at the top of the screen. The resulting file can then be manipulated further into graphs or pivot tables using Excel or another spreadsheet application.
