Accounting Supervisor

Supervises accounting staff, assists with accounting and auditing for a company, and prepares financial reports. Works with other department or operations staff to track expenditures and manage budgets.

Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk

Keeps records of accounts and financial transactions. Works for a business or provides bookkeeping services for several smaller organizations or individual. Provides information for financial and tax reports completed by an accountant.

Building and General Maintenance Technician

Performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.

Busser / Banquet Worker / Cafeteria Attendant

Assists with food service at a restaurant, large banquet hall or cafeteria. Removes used dishes, sets tables with clean dishes and linens, replenishes foods served at food stations or buffet tables, and provides water, coffee or other beverages for patrons.

Caregiver / Personal Care Aide

Provides care for adults, including elderly and disabled people, in their own homes. Assists clients with personal care and bathing, taking medications and light housekeeping; may also provide transportation to appointments or errands.

Chef

Oversees food preparation and directs other cooks and kitchen staff. Plans menus, develops recipes, orders ingredients and supplies. May supervise kitchen operations in a restaurant or work for a private household; may work for an executive office or a client that entertains regularly.

Concierge

Provides special assistance and courtesy services to guests and patrons at a hotel or club. Greets and provides services for building residents or tenants. Arranges reservations, purchases tickets, answers questions and responds to customer requests.

Cook

Prepares food in a restaurant or institutional kitchen. May be responsible for a specific station or type of food preparation in a larger kitchen, or specialize as a short-order or fast-food cook. May prepare meals in private homes, or cater parties.

Data Entry Clerk

Types or scans information in to a computer to create databases, programs or summary data reports. Transcribes handwritten information from order forms, receipts or other documents to type in to a computerized record, or enters data for medical records, or enters data in code to update company websites.

Dietary Aide

Works in kitchens such as hospital kitchens where cooking is done to meet specific dietary requirements. Assists with food preparation and other tasks.

Director of Nursing

Manages and supervises all nursing staff at a hospital or long term care facility. Manages communications with physicians, manages budgets and expenses, and assists other administrators with managing operations. Monitors staff schedules and the quality of nursing care at the facility. Maintains professional license or certification requirements.

Director of Rehabilitation

Directs rehabilitation services for a hospital, clinic or specialized rehabilitation facility. Supervises rehabilitation therapy staff and counselors and coordinates services for patients or clients. Manages scheduling, budgets, facility equipment and resources.

Facilities Manager

Manages the facilities of a company or organization, including buildings and grounds, equipment, supplies and staff. Oversees maintenance and security of facilities; oversees renovation projects and monitors work to improve energy efficiency, productivity or employee safety. May work in manufacturing and production, or manage hotels, small apartment buildings, trailer parks or recreational facilities.

File Clerk

Maintains paper or electronic records for a company or organization. Enters data and organizes and retrieves files.

Home Health Aide

Helps individuals who are disabled, elderly, or chronically ill with daily tasks, such as dressing, washing, and light housekeeping. Cares for patients in their homes. May perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional.

Janitor / Cleaner

Provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Kitchen Staff

Assists with food preparation as directed by cooks, food supervisors or chefs. Cleans kitchen work areas and dishes. Prepares ingredients for dishes to be cooked, prepares beverages, and stocks salad bars or buffet tables.

Laundry Worker

Washes, dries, and folds clothes for customers at a laundromat. Works in a commercial laundry or for a company that provides laundry services for businesses, including hospitals, hotels and other businesses that use large quantities of linens.

Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse

Provide basic medical care under the direction of registered nurses and other healthcare specialists. The tasks that they are permitted to perform vary by state, but usually include changing bandages, checking blood pressure, or helping feed patients. May work in hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities.

Maid / Housekeeping Staff

Provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.

Maintenance / Service Supervisor

Oversees maintenance of a residential or commercial building, manages maintenance staff and directs maintenance tasks.

Nursing Assistant

Provides hospital and nursing home patients with basic care and assists them with daily activities. Helps patients with dressing, washing, and feeding. May perform basic medical care under the direction of a nurse or other medical professional.

Nursing Home / Home Health Administrator

Manages staff and operations at a long term care facility. Oversees admission and care of residents, staff hiring, billing and finances, compliance with regulatory requirements and building maintenance. Maintains professional licensing requirements. Manages staff, recordkeeping, billing, finances, and other administrative work for a home health care program, where aides assist clients with personal, household and some health-related services in their homes.

Nursing Manager / Supervisor

Manages nurses working in a clinical unit at a hospital or health care facility. Provides clinical experience as a registered nurse and supervises nurses that provide direct patient care. Creates and manages staff schedules and ensures that hospital policies and procedures are followed. Manages budget and recordkeeping for the unit.

Office / Administrative Assistant

Performs administrative work in an office. Works in a wide variety of office settings, such as a company or business, or a government office or school. Manages paper and electronic files, uses office equipment including computers, responds to phone calls and emails, routes mail and maintains calendars and schedules.

Physical Therapy Aide

Assists physical therapists and technicians to help patients with disabling injuries or conditions. Sets up treatment areas and equipment, handles clerical tasks, and helps move patients. Works in the office of an physical therapist or in a healthcare setting.

Property / Real Estate / Community Manager

Manages operations for an apartment building or complex. Recruits and screens tenants for apartments, collects rents and security deposits, responds to requests or complaints from tenants, supervises maintenance and repairs; oversees payment of bills, insurance, taxes and recordkeeping. Manages property and services on behalf of a community association, for properties such as condominiums or cooperatives. Collects fees or dues, responds to requests or complaints, supervises maintenance, oversees work done by contractors, and provides accounting of income and expenses. May also assist owners or a board of directors with regulatory compliance or compliance with community association rules. Manages the operation of commercial or residential properties. Oversees the collection of rents and payment of bills, taxes and insurance for properties, and provides property owners with reports on finances and the status of properties. Directs leasing operations, or equipment and machinery rentals, for a company or business. Determines charges and prepares rental or lease agreements; supervises inventory, equipment maintenance and recordkeeping for leasing operations.

Receptionist

Greets and directs customers or visitors that come in to an office or business, and answers and directs incoming phone calls. Deals with mail or courier services. May schedule appointments or meeting rooms, gather patient information, or assist with filing or other administrative support work.

Recreation / Activities Worker

Leads tours and vacation trips in outdoor or wilderness areas. Leads hiking, rafting, canoeing, climbing or diving activities for a group. Provides specialized knowledge about the history, terrain, ecology or wildlife for the tour. Manages transportation, equipment and provisions and assists with cooking.

Registered Nurse

Provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Security Officer

Provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.
